Working in this office requires complying with many government regulations. When a student fills out a FAFSA application it is through the government and the staff has many hoops they have to jump through when helping the students in this process.

In addition to following the government rules and regulations, they work to help the students as much as possible. Whether that is helping the students with gathering their missing documents or figuring out a plan that works best for the students and their respective families.

In an interview I conducted with Shantel Dewald, she stated: “The significant goal I would say is really to provide students and families with all the information that I can whether is my department or not.”

Having been a college student, Shantel then reflected on her experience: “Going into college when I was first starting there was so much that I wasn't told and that would have better helped with my experience and saved me a lot of money.”

The Financial Aid Office is there to help you with any of your college financial needs and is open 8-5 Monday through Friday. Student workers also work to keep up with phone calls and emails in order to supply one with the best financial aid experience. One can contact the main email using finaid.tiffin.edu or call the phone at 419-448-3279.
