Ultrasonik, formerly known as Leave Those Kids Alone, brought classic rock favorites to Tiffin University’s East Green amphitheater last Saturday.

The band, founded by several TU alumni, includes brother-sister duo Alex Bonadonna on guitar and vocals and Addisyn Bonadonna on drums, along with Grace Sonoski on lead vocals, Avary Cochrane on bass and Nick Worth on keyboards and guitar.

Ultrasonik performed a variety of classic 1980s rock songs, including “Highway to Hell,” “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” and “I Hate Myself for Loving You.” The group delivered an energetic performance and engaged frequently with the audience throughout the evening. With favorable weather and an enthusiastic crowd, the concert provided an entertaining night event for the TU community.

Ultrasonik continues to perform throughout Ohio, Michigan and surrounding areas, offering audiences a refreshed setlist of classic rock favorites.

A new campus landmark was introduced in the Hayes Courtyard today during a ribbon-cutting ceremony held just before Springfest! Introducing The Hatchstone!

Tiffin University alum, Andrea Bush, graduated last spring with a Masters in Humanities. Since graduating, she has been on the move, working on multiple projects. Her most recent endeavor is her hopefully soon-to-be published novel, The Treasure of Cajmoor. I had the opportunity to ask a couple of questions about the novel directly, and here is what Andrea had to say!

What do you think of when you hear the word life? What emotions does it invoke? For me, life means moving through the world even when it doesn’t want me to, hanging out with friends, dreaming of vacations I could go on, and more.

On April 9th and 10th, Senior Commercial Music students presented their senior projects, displaying their variety of talents and highlighting their growth since freshman year.

Wilting, a song released on March 27th, focuses on the Easter Toons. Those Toons are Bassie, a basket filled with flowers, Cocoa, a chocolate bunny, Flyte, a tall pastel blue butterfly, and Eggson, an elderly egg. As of this article, the song has over 4M views, and is very close to reaching 5M. The song is written and produced by Sam Haft and Andrew Underberg in collaboration with Qwelver, with OR30 as Bassie and Toastymarshmellow as Cocoa, and animation done by Jonlanty. The main character of Wilting is Bassie, the Main Toon of the Easter Toons. The song also follows Cocoa. In Dandy’s World, Main Toons are supposed to be sure of themselves and their positions. They’re supposed to be confident, and they’re supposed to lead their groups in order to ensure Gardenview’s success.

Have you ever heard of the song “Hound Dog” by Elvis Presley? You probably were unaware that it was a cover of Big Mama Thornton’s original. Now, how about the board game Monopoly? It’s marketed by Parker Brothers, though it was originally invented by Elizabeth Magie Phillips, ironically, to protest monopolists. Of course, we’re all familiar with the groundbreaking changes made by Marie Curie, Rosa Parks, and Amelia Earhart. Whether they were heralded in textbooks or left out of the pages, women have been making waves throughout history. That is why the month of March is dedicated to celebrating and honoring the important achievements of women.

On Friday, March 27th, Red Letter Daze, an acclaimed a cappella vocal quartet performed at the historic Ritz Theatre. This served as the grand finale to FestiVOX, Tiffin University’s annual festival celebrating vocal music across genres and styles.
